Summer Reading Program – The Daniel Pierce Library’s Summer Reading Program is about much more than summertime fun. Reading over the summer is instrumental in a child’s development and academic success. Here’s why:

  • Summer Learning loss i the loss of academic skills and knowledge over the course of summer break. Children who don’t read over the summer experience summer learning loss and over time will be significantly behind their peers.
  • The Daniel Pierce Library’s Summer Reading Program encourages kids to read whatever they want but to make a conscious choice to read every day! For those that do – they receive a prize!
  • Our Summer Reading Program helps instill a love for reading for recreation. Studies show that kids who read for fun often out perform kids in school who do not read for fun.
  • Our Summer Reading Programs are available to all Tri-Valley Central School District residents and are free! We have something for every age group and hope you will join us this summer!

Universal Pre-Kindergarten Story Hour – Our “Story Hour on the Road” program visits the three UPK classes at Tri-Valley Central School and will begin again on October 24th and runs for 14 weeks. Children will be registered at school and will have the opportunity to check books out each week to share at home with their families.
